Weekend Maker Markets 12/10-12/11

It’s the weekend and there are some local maker markets you shouldn’t miss!

The queen of local maker Markets, Crafty Wonderland not only has this HUGE market at the Convention Center 12/9-12/11, but also has adorable local shops as well.

The Portland Bazaar started in 2011 with a mission is to create an exciting event to highlight the skilled artists, makers and small businesses of Portland, Oregon. It’s a city-wide favorite!

Let’s not forget about our friends at Saturday Market! They will be going strong every Saturday until 12/24, selling wonderful, local wares. If you haven’t been to Saturday Market, you’re seriously missing out. It’s super cool! And it’s a great place to go with the whole family. It’s entirely outdoors!

Did you know that December is the slowest month in real estate? It is, which is exciting for us since we both come from a hardcore retails past and never really got to enjoy the holidays with our family. It’s so nice to power down for a few weeks and enjoy a slower pace. Carla used to own Mink on SE Hawthorne, and Sally Pin me Apparel on N Mississippi. While our shops are in the distant past, this is how we know each other and when we became friends. We still love to honor local businesses since we both know first-hand how hard it can be and how much rides on the holidays to make or break the year. Many retailers and makers operate at a loss all year and holiday season is where profits are realized. So don’t feel guilty about shopping away, just try to do as much as you can locally!
